Wisdom and Fear

Our natural tendency is to attempt to manage our fears rather than finding freedom from them. God offers freedom from fear, but that requires trusting Him, His motives and His ways more than we trust ourselves, our motives and the world's ways.
1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love."
Philippians 4:6-9 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Godly wisdom is not just worldly wisdom with a few Biblical principles sprinkled in. To have Godly wisdom, we must be willing to jettison any worldly wisdom which isn’t aligned with God’s heart. Not all worldly wisdom is bad; in fact, much of it is good. However, it is not man’s place to decide; all our ways of thinking must be brought into God’s light to let God guide us into His way of thinking.
God's wisdom is not something we discover with human effort or intellect; it is revealed by God to the humble heart. Ask Him today for His wisdom as you read His word.
James 1:5-6 says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind."
How can we grow in faith and wisdom? Romans 10:17 says, "faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ." Spend time daily in God's word, asking Him to reveal Himself.
